Experiments
Experiments is a personal tracking app for trying new habits, hobbies, or tools without the pressure of long-term commitment. It helps you set a timeframe, check in with notes or photos, and reflect at the end to decide what’s worth keeping. With custom reminders, widgets, and flexible durations, Experiments encourages a mindful, trial-and-error approach to personal growth.

Who’s behind Experiments?

I'm Jason Chin, also known as Easlo. I started my journey as a part-time creator and am now a full-time creator, sharing productivity tips and Notion content and templates.
I’ve been a huge fan of productivity content since high school before I got into Notion. Creators like Ali Abdaal were a big inspiration to me. What really pulled me into the Notion rabbit hole was how it felt like a no-code tool, like you could build your own mini apps inside it.
After teaming up with my developer friend to build and grow SyncTasks, I decided to take another step into app development by creating my first app.
What’s Experiments and what’s so cool about it?

I've been a fan of Matt D'Avella's 30 day experiments for years.
When Anne-Laure Le Cunff announced her book Tiny Experiments, I became more drawn to the idea of living life as an experiment. With tools like Cursor available today, I decided to give this app idea a shot and bring it to life.
Experiments is an app that helps you track new things before fully adding them into your life. Whether you're picking up a new hobby, building a habit, or testing out a new app or product, you can treat it as an experiment.
Set a duration, check in on your progress, and log your observations with notes or photos. When the experiment ends, review and reflect on whether it’s something you want to keep.
Experiments's Tool Stack
What’s under Experiments’s hood? Which technologies were used and why did you chose them?

I chose iOS app development because I am a user of Apple products, and I have some beginner experience from learning SwiftUI a few years ago. I used Cursor alongside Xcode during the development process. I haven't tried many other alternatives, but I've heard good things about Cursor.
Besides that, I drafted the idea and design in Figma late last year in 2024, after seeing the announcement video for Tiny Experiments by Anne-Laure Le Cunff on her YouTube channel.
Figma continues to be valuable in helping me create the necessary screenshots and content for my app.
Do you use any other tools to run the business?

Rotato and Jitter for making animated video content for sharing my app. Tasks, roadmap, and references related to the project are all tracked in my Notion workspace.
What’s your personal stack? Which apps do you and your team love?

I enjoy using Notion and Arc daily. For email, I use Superhuman, Notion Calendar for my schedule, and Notion for tasks and pretty much everything else.
Anything else you’d like to share?

I’d love for you to give Experiments a try and share any feedback you have. I’m also working on my second app, Journal, and sharing updates on social ‒ I’d love for you to follow along and try it out when it launches.
